The Hues Corporation

The Hues Corporation are an American soul/pop/disco act known for their #1 1974 hit “Rock The Boat,” which was one of the earliest disco hits.

“Rock The Boat” became a massive hit in 1974, leading to its highest peak of the Hot 100 that year as well as a gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (R.I.A.A). Their subsequent singles – “Rockin’ Soul”, “Love Corporation” and “I Caught Your Act” became a big hits on the dance and R&B charts.

The group continues to tour and is led by long-time lead singer, Wendell E. Anderson, Sr., along with Jinnerva Shelery, and Deondra Means.  On October 1, 2021, The Hues Corporation released its new song, “Rock the Boat 4Love”. A collaboration with Master Gee of The Sugarhill Gang and Julian Johnson. The Hues Corporation kicked off 2022 with appearances aboard The Ultimate Disco Cruise. The group will also be performing later in the year as part of the Saturday Night Dance Fever touring show and a special Juneteenth performance on June 18, 2022 in their hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio. The group continues to tour both in the United States and internationally. In 2024 The group performed in Rome, Italy on the RAI show I Migliori Anni along many other international artists.
