Carl Magnus Palm’s ABBA Presentations

THE WINNER TAKES IT ALL – THE ABBA STORY
How did ABBA go from being an unknown Swedish pop group to one of the biggest acts on the planet? Presented by the world’s leading ABBA expert, Carl Magnus Palm, this is the story of the ups and downs of the 1970s pop phenomenon that hit the top of the Billboard chart with Dancing Queen.
ABBA AND THE USA
Back in the 1970s, ABBA enjoyed 14 Top 40 singles and several big-selling albums in the USA, yet weren’t quite as big there as they were everywhere else. But did you know that the United States was one of the first countries to release an ABBA record? Or that the Mamma Mia! musical, based on the group’s hits, is in the Top Ten of longest-running Broadway shows? The group was also influenced by American disco music, creating their own brand of dance music by fusing it with their Nordic roots. Carl Magnus Palm, the world’s leading ABBA expert, tells you the story of the group’s adventures in America, where they are now bigger than ever.
