Al McKay’s Earth, Wind and Fire Experience

The EWF Experience delivers the timeless sound, spirit, and soul of Earth, Wind & Fire through a world-class ensemble of musicians who have spent decades performing together on global stages. Founded by legendary guitarist and songwriter Al McKay—co-writer of “September” and “Sing a Song”—the band was born from McKay’s mission to keep the music alive with authenticity, excellence, and joy.

Today, Al McKay has formally turned over management of the EWF Experience to longtime collaborator and lead vocalist Tim Owens, with support from Ben Dowling as music director, ensuring the band’s future remains rooted in authenticity while evolving with purpose.

The EWF Experience features an elite lineup including vocalists Claude Woods and DeVere Duckett; Earth, Wind & Fire veteran guitarist Gregory “G-Moe” Moore; musical director and keyboardist Ben Dowling; bassist James Manning; drummer LJ Holifield; percussionist David Leach; keyboardist Dave Iwataki; horn section leader and trombonist Shaunte Palmer; saxophonist Keith McKelly; trumpeters Christopher Gray and Tony Bonsera.

The team is supported by Management & Production Team Mario Kriegl, production/stage manager Hilko Nackaerts, monitor engineer Laura Cabezas Moran, and front-of-house engineer John Baker.

With many members performing together for over 20 years, the EWF Experience offers more than a concert—it delivers actual magic, created in real time by musicians who breathe, feel, and live the music.
